The basic purpose of the job is:

To work closely with colleagues to co-ordinate the provision of a high quality, strategic and operational Learning and Development service to employees and managers in ways which support the objectives of the Firm.

To partner across HF to build solid working relationships with managers, ensuring they are up to date with relevant learning methods and that they have the capability to design and implement high quality and successful development solutions.

To develop and provide relevant and effective learning interventions and performance support materials for our people.

The main duties of the role include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Identify and understand learning needs across the firm and drive suitable learning experiences and resources to meet departmental, team and individual objectives.

  • To partner with the relevant departments to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Design and deliver a blend of engaging digital / virtual classroom / self-study / eLearning activities to support performance, whilst ensuring the desired outcomes and business benefit clearly articulated.

  • Apply a real understanding of effective learning design to all experiences and resources, engaging with and managing SMEs and other stakeholders appropriately.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring existing development is kept current and relevant and that all development design includes the latest L&D thinking.

  • To partner with Operations Managers to ensure the on-boarding programme links training to probation objectives to ensure quality and consistency across all job roles and departments and contributes to a fantastic employee experience.

  • Provide line managers with practical, effective people management and leadership development, ensuring they are equipped and confident to effectively engage with and manage individuals in their team and to develop them in turn.

  • Provide specialist L&D expertise and advice to management and employees across the company, keeping your own knowledge and practice right up to date.

  • Working with the team to ensure feedback, evaluation and analysis processes are carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of learning and use the analysis outcomes to drive future programmes.

  • Collaborating across the team to ensure the continual optimization and development of our Learning Platform, Looop, and content/campaigns.

  • Support organisational change as a positive HF role model, driving learning interventions that help to get the organisation and individuals to the end goal.

  • Acting as an ambassador for our People team, driving consistency across all business areas.

Personal Specification

The successful candidate will have the following attributes, skills and experience:


  • 5+ years of L&D experience.
  • 2+ years of L&D experience in a BP role or equivalent.


  • CIPD Qualified or working towards.
  • Professional Services sector experience.
