The Team – Recoveries:

Horwich Farrelly is a successful niche practice operating predominantly in the Insurance defendant litigation field. Horwich Farrelly has been undertaking recoveries work for clients for a number of years and the team have a great reputation due to their specialist industry experience securing many millions of pounds per annum for clients. As the team are 100% dedicated to recoveries and working for a number of clients the team are able to readily identify market trends and monitor case law to ensure we continually adapt our processes to obtain the best results.
 
The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen within the Recoveries team for an Assistant to join their team in the Manchester office. This is an exciting opportunity for someone starting out in their legal career or for individuals who are looking for a new challenge! Above all we are looking for committed, enthusiastic individuals with the desire to learn and lots of common sense. It is important you are organised and compliantbut also willing to use your own initiative.

Personal Specification
 Main responsibilities:
  • To assist Fee Earners with files in the production of standard documentation.
  • To undertake communication on the phone with third parties – this includes chasing payment from third party insurers.
  • Processing of cheques and loss forms.
  • Data inputting in the form of updating information on the case management system.
  • Chasing client statements and uninsured loss forms.
  • Providing general administrative duties to the team.

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to priorities incoming work efficiently - Essential
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail- Essential
  • Professional and confident telephone manner – Essential
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills  - Essential 
  • An enthusiastic team player  - Essential
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative – Essential
  • Customer service skills  - Essential
  • Previous experience gained in a similar legal assisting role  - Desirable but not essential as training on the job will be provided

Other responsibilities:

  • In addition the job holder is required to perform other responsibilities assigned by the management as and when requested which is not exhaustive.

Our full time hours are 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday 7 hours per day working flexible hours between 6am to 9pm.
