About The Role

To support the CFO in managing the Financial Administration of the firm.

Main Responsibilities

 
  • Management of the Financial Accounting Team

     

  • Provision of technical financial advice to the business with particular reference to the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR), VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax, CT61

     

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and tax rules across the business

     

  • Preparation of all Financial Accounts including submission to companies house and iXBRL tagging

     

  • Ensuring the integrity of the general ledger with overall responsibility for journal entry, interfaces, account reconciliations, month end and year end

     

  • Reviewing and assessing internal financial procedures/controls to ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal guidelines

     

  • Ownership of Financial policies and accounting policies

     

  • Ownership and submission of tax returns including (but not limited to) VAT Returns, PAYE, CT61, Corporation Tax or equivalent for foreign entities

     

  • Liaison with tax authorities (eg HMRC) as required

     

  • Liaison with the Firm’s bankers

     

  • Liaison with Auditors

     

  • Cash flow monitoring and forecasting

     

  • WIP calculation and write off

     

  • Supporting the Finance Business Partner Team with relevant accounting information and insight

     

  • Supporting the Operations team around debt position and collections

     

  • Ensuring an efficient payroll operation, ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time

     

  • Ensuring an efficient expenses operation and ensuring employees are paid correctly

     

  • And such ad hoc reports/duties as may be required from time to time

Personal Specification

Person Specification

  • Qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA
  • Proven Management, Leadership and Mentoring Experience
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Good communicator and strong inter-personal skills
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word etc.
  • Excellent attention to detail
