About The Role

The main duties of this role are:


  • To undertake all administration duties as requested and be prepared to use a high degree of self-management and initiative.

  • The management and co-ordination of all files correspondence and documents

  • To administer daily post and assist with daily filing of departmental documentation a on the appropriate files.

  • Progressing to providing support to fee earners as and when required by:

    • Assisting the fee earners with their caseload of files

    • Updating information on the Case Management system

    • Undertaking direct communication with third parties / clients on the telephone in a professional and effective manner

    • Providing first line support for client queries

    • Producing standard documentation

  • Progressing to file management by:

    • Dealing with a case load of files and assisting other fee earners as and when required.

    • Ensuring that all cases are dealt with in compliance with SRA and Law Society Practice Management Standards

    • Practicing good file management

    • Ensuring that clients are confident that their legal affairs are dealt with in a business-like and competent manner, and to ensure the efficient operation of the practice.

    • Ensuring all important dates are Diarised

    • Keeping up to date with all correspondence relating to files

    • Complying with Horwich Farrelly’s practices and Procedures


The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • 3 A-levels grade c or above (or equivalent)

  • Excellent organisation and communication skills, both written and verbal

  • The ability to work to deadlines and manage workload effectively

  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

  • Someone who can use their initiative and thrives in a busy and fast-paced environment

  • The successful candidate will need to be conscientious, punctual, committed and articulate; and demonstrate a positive attitude and a commitment to succeed.
