About The Role

This role is fundamental to the successful operation of the People Department. This role will be a senior member of the People management team and will be accountable for driving the value of the new HF People Experience. Working closely with stakeholders at all levels, across all departments this role will strategically and practically shape the people experience through the accountability for and leadership of the People Operations team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Work with the People Director to develop the People strategy and key associated work plans
  • To deputise for the People Director where required
  • Represent People Operations within the Business Services Leadership Team (BSLT)
  • To lead and manage the day to day running of the People Operations Team ensuring objectives and development plans are set
  • Implement the People operations strategy and associated work plans
  • Proactively realise efficiencies in all areas of the People Operations Team through process re-design and or new process implementation
  • Provide Business Partnering support alongside the People Business Partner to specified areas of the business enabling departments to leverage maximum value from the People Department offer/ initiatives
  • To quickly develop firm wide relationships in order to fully understand business needs and turn these into tangible, coherent and value adding initiatives
  • Be able to articulate business needs and represent subsequent actions in various formats and forums
  • Produce relevant and effective ‘People insights’ from available data to help drive work priorities and to demonstrate return on investment and overall value
  • Take the lead on complex ER cases advising the People Director on an ongoing basis about significant risks, developments and anticipated outcomes ensuring all lessons learnt are built in to all future activity/ scenarios
  • Maintain up to date and in depth understanding of current employment law, knowing where to access it and the impact of it on the Firm amending process/ policies where required
  • Work with the People Director to implement the current phase of the Total Reward strategy
  • Drive Engagement & D&I through the People Operations and wider People Team structure ensuring initiatives are embedded in relevant teams
  • Provide organisational design (OD) support to the business as and when required
  • Be responsible for the development of the Business Partnering model ensuring business partnering activity is at the core of all People department activity
  • Have a full understanding and lead on firm wide talent management initiatives including; identification of  core development needs, succession planning and competency based performance management

Personal Specification
 Essential Requirements
  • CIPD Qualified
  • Advanced knowledge of UK Employment Law
  • The ability to influence and promote change through a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience of process review or implementing operational efficiencies
  • Excellent problem solver who is solutions focused
  • Excellence in people management and proven experience in a leadership capacity
  • Proven experience of delivering a people strategy which aligns closely to the needs of the business
  • Commercially focussed
  • High level of ER knowledge including TUPE, restructure and tribunal

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in legal or professional services sector would be an advantage
  • The ability to translate numbers into actionable insights
