About The Role

An opportunity has arisen to join the Finance department of our fast-paced, award-winning Law Firm. The Finance Department covers both transactional and reporting aspects of the finances of the firm and plays a key role in the current and future strategy of the business. This role is a 12 month FTC role to cover Maternity Leave within the current team. 

You will be part of the Business Partnering and Management Accounts team, primarily working alongside the Management Accountant to produce the Monthly Management and Financial Accounts. The role will also encompass aspects of business partnering helping to provide financial insight to the business, helping it to grow and develop with the business needs.

You will ideally have 2-3 years’ experience in producing Management and Financial accounts, be part or fully qualified with a keen attention to detail.

The basic purpose of the job and its primary objectives

To support the Management Accountant with the firm’s management reporting, financial reporting and financial compliance., working alongside the Management Accountant and Finance Business Partner.

Main responsibilities

  • Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts with focus on cost allocation, prepayments and accruals.
  •  Assisting with preparation of accurate monthly balances sheet reconciliations and ongoing review of balances, identification and rectification of potential issues
  •  Assisting with preparation of annual financial accounts
  • Assisting with internal reporting, results commentary and any queries from legal services and business services teams
  • Support the Management Accountant with the review of processes and procedures and help to drive change in these areas to improve performance across the department
  • Provide support to the Finance Business Partner with the annual budgeting process and quarterly re-forecasting
  • Assist with the Preparation of VAT and ONS returns
  • Ad-Hoc projects as required
Personal Specification
  • Part-Qualified Accountant (e.g. CIMA/ACCA/ACA/ICEAW)
  •  Previous experience of Management and Financial Accounts preparation
  •  Ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail
