About The Role

The basic purpose of the job and its primary objectives:

To assist an Associate Partner and Associate in delivering client excellence in the large and complex injury group in Southampton.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To assist fee earners with tasks on their files as and when allocated.
  • To communicate effectively internally with other departments/colleagues
  • To communicate direct with clients and third parties in a professional and effective manner.
  • Drafting and preparing court documents.
  • Reviewing court documents, statements, medical records and applications.
  • Attending hearings as and when required.
  • To set up and maintain a fully working system of organisation to ensure all important dates are met and files are progressed proactively.
  • Updating file information on Case Management System
  • Provision of first line support for client queries.
  • To assist with the efficient running of the office generally
  • To comply fully with the Solicitors Accountancy Rules
  • To work in full compliance with the firm’s Data Protection Policy and all other policies.

In addition the employee is required to perform other responsibilities assigned by the Partnership as requested.

Personal Specification
 The ideal candidate will be up to 2 years PQ Solicitor or have equivalent level of experience.  
 

Skills & Experience required:

  • Previous experience within a similar role handling a full and varied case load.
  • A knowledge or experience of Personal Injury Clams; preferably Multi-Track. 
  • Previous experience working within the insurance sector 
  • Experience of working in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and creative problem solving.
  • Professional and confident telephone manner.
  • Experience of working with a Case Management System.
  • Ability to type own documents and reports.
  • Advocacy experience welcomed
