About The Role

The basic purpose of the job and its primary objectives:

To support the members of the Finance Transactional Team to ensure all financial transactions are processed in accordance with the Solicitors' Accounts Rules and the firm's internal procedures.

Main responsibilities:

  • Match printed cheques to correct letters
  • Take cheques to a Partner to be signed and take branch office cheques to post room to ensure they are sent out the same day
  • Scan unidentified cheques (Cheque Chasers) and send to cashier responsible for this role
  • Log VAT receipts from Counsel on spreadsheet and scan onto system at regular intervals
  • Chase Counsel clerks for missing VAT receipts – email or phone
  • Scan and Email Supplier Remittance Advices to suppliers
  • Copy and scan the cheques we are banking each day and assist Banking Cashiers where needed
  • Input Purchase Ledger Invoices onto the Account software (SOS) under the supervision on the Purchase Ledger Cashier
  • Run/input fixed fee bills for certain clients (CPL, Credit Hire Hastings) under the supervision of the Billing Cashier Supervisor
  • Filing of invoices and posting slips.
  • Sort and scan Purchase Ledger invoices onto the system on a daily basis
  • Scan processed bills onto the system on a daily basis
  • Other ad-hoc duties, as required, to enable the smooth running of the department and providing cover for other team members in periods of absence
