About The Role

The Role:

The basic purpose of the role is to provide day to day assistance to the fee earners in the handling of their cases. You will have a list of tasks allocated by the fee earners and will have the autonomy to manage your own task list. The successful candidate must therefore be organized with strong IT skills. A legal background/qualifications are not required for the role however a passion and interest in working within a legal environment is essential. Full training will be provided with a mixture of online and face to face to get you familiar with our case management system and legal practices.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the setup of new files following receipt of instructions File Management
  • Direct communication with clients and third parties
  • Liaising with lay and expert witnesses
  • Liaising with courts and Counsel
  • Preparing court bundles and instructions to counsel
  • Filing and serving court documents
  • Logging court orders and diarising important dates
  • Obtaining basic hire rate reports
  • Billing disbursements (counsel fees/hire report fees/Intel fees/court fees etc.)
  • Ensuring calls and correspondences are accurately noted and time recorded
  • Inputting management information
  • Photocopying and general office duties
  • Filing and general admin duties
  • Legal research

Skills & Experience:

  • Administration experience- previous legal administration experience is desirable however candidates with experience gained outside of a legal environment will also be considered. .
  • Experience of working in a fast paced environment would be desirable.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent attention to detail and great organisational skills.

  • To assist with the efficient running of the office generally.
  • In addition the employee is required to perform other responsibilities assigned by the Partnership as requested
