The basic purpose of the job is:

To work closely with colleagues to co-ordinate the provision of a high quality, strategic and operational Learning and Development service to employees and managers in ways which support the objectives of the Firm.

To partner the Firm to build solid working relationships with managers, ensuring they are up to date with relevant learning methods and that they have the capability to design and implement high quality and successful development solutions.

To develop and provide relevant and effective learning interventions and performance support materials for our people

The main duties of the role include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Ensuring learning requirements across the firm are identified and suitable learning interventions are sourced to meet departmental, team and individual objectives.
  • To partner with the relevant departments to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Design and deliver a blend of engaging F2F classroom / virtual classroom / self-study / eLearning activities to support the identified learning need, whilst ensuring the desired outcomes and business benefit clearly articulated.
  • Ensuring learning design and sign-off procedures are followed including but not limited to learning overviews, storyboards and scripts for eLearning.
  • To carry out regular reviews to update and maintain all learning activities and materials to ensure they are kept up to date.
  • To partner with Operations Managers to implement an on-boarding programme to link training to probation objectives to ensure quality and consistency across all job roles and departments.
  • Provide line managers with practical learning and development solutions, ensuring they understand the options available to them to effectively engage with and manage individuals in their team.
  • The provision of specialist L&D expertise and advice to management and employees across the firm.
  • Working with the L&D Co-ordinator to ensure feedback and analysis processes are carried out to measure effectiveness of learning and use the analysis outcomes to drive future programmes.
  • Collaborating with the Administration Team to manage back office processes via the Learning Management System.
  • Monitoring and measuring team training and training statistics to produce a monthly report to Senior Leadership.
  • To undertake line management responsibility for a L&D Specialist and any necessary action to identify and implement improvement actions also ensuring high levels of employee satisfaction and productivity.
  • During transitions of change, acting as a positive firm role model, driving learning interventions to support change and helping individuals to understand the rationale and guiding them to the end goal.
  • Acting as an ambassador for our L&D team, driving consistency across all business areas.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest developments, best practices and trends in L&D to bring leading edge expertise to Horwich Farrelly.

The successful candidate will have the following attributes, skills and experience:

Essential:

  • 5+ years of L&D experience.
  • 2+ years of L&D experience in a BP role or equivalent.

Desirable:

  • CIPD Qualified or working towards.
  • Professional Services sector experience.
