About The Role

We are recruiting due to the progression of a team member to another team within the firm. We are  looking for candidates to join our Defendant Motor and Casualty team. In this role you will not only be working independently but you will be working as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have completed a law degree/GDL/LPC, have previous file handling experience or worked in the insurance industry.

We receive instructions from 2 large insurance clients.

Handling a caseload of litigated, mainly Fast Track files you will report to an Associate Solicitor in this Partner-led department.

The Main Duties:

  • Working in a busy team dealing with claims arising out of Road Traffic Accidents
  • Drafting court documents, proceedings and applications.
  • Manage a litigated caseload.
  • Obtain witness statements.
  • Reviewing third party evidence.
  • Instructing Counsel and on occasion, medical and other experts.
  • Managing client expectations/Complying with client Service Level Agreements .
  • Adhering to Court directions and deadlines.
  • Working to set priorities, create clear plans and manage all work to meet the needs of the client.

The Candidate

Skills & Experience required:

  • Previous experience within a similar role handling a case load.
  • A knowledge or experience of Personal Injury Clams; either Claimant or Defendant
  • Previous experience working within the insurance sector 
  • Experience of working in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative.
  • Professional and confident telephone manner.

The Firm

Our full time hours are 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday 7 hours per day working flexible hours between 8am to 6pm.
