Motor Insurance Litigation Solicitors/Paralegals
HF’s Scotland office is a dynamic and fast-growing team. Due to increased growth, we are looking to recruit for a number of positions from Solicitors and Paralegal’s/Litigation Executive’s! Our Teams are based in Glasgow or Edinburgh and work on a hybrid basis and enjoy working flexibly. Where our offices are out of reach permanent remote positions available for self-sufficient and motor insurance experienced solicitors!
You will be working alongside three recognised Law Society of Scotland Specialists in Personal Injury Law whose experience includes a number of significant cases, such as appeals to the House of Lords concerning limitation in abuse cases and to the Inner House of the Court of Session regarding the applicability of workplace regulations.

What do I need?
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Solicitor (0-5 years PQE) or an established Paralegal who is looking to gain exposure on, complex matters supporting a Partner whilst managing your own caseload of general insurance files.
We are looking for;
- Previous experience within a similar role handling a full case load of pre-litigated and litigated defender and/or recoveries matters.
- Experience in third party claims handling and confident in dealing with high volume work. Experience of handling litigated claims from start to finish preferred but not essential. Advocacy support available from in house solicitors and solicitor advocates for non-qualified applicants.
- Knowledge or experience of Personal Injury Claims; preferably Defendant and/or previous experience working within the insurance sector however, we welcome applications from those with a Pursuer background.
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated attitude with a desire to achieve and exceed targets combined with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ability to demonstrate initiative and creative problem solving is desirable.

What will you be doing?
You will be asked to competently deal with a varied high volume case load within our case management system including recoveries, motor, counter fraud, and credit hire matters. As well as assisting our Partners with reviewing evidence, drafting correspondence and court documents. Ensuring that clients are confident that their legal affairs are dealt with in a professional and competent manner, and to ensure the efficient operation of the team.
You will be asked to carry out Advocacy at procedural hearings, debates and proofs.
