About The Role

Horwich Farrelly’s vacation scheme gives you the opportunity to spend two weeks in our Manchester office, within our award winning Fraud Department and highly successful Motor & Casualty Department. You will be assigned your own training buddy in each department who will offer you support and guidance. They will also be able to offer a genuine insight into the Horwich Farrelly Training Contract.

We will provide you with a blend of work based activities such as a mock trial, comprehensive case management training and presentations from our Partners. We want you to understand how we fight Fraud and defend cases so you will be provided with invaluable exposure as to how the departments operate day to day.  You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced lawyers and gain an insight into what it is actually like to be a Trainee Solicitor.

It isn’t all work and no play though! We will provide you with professional development sessions, social activities and an after work dinner. Horwich Farrelly aims to recruit a high percentage of the schemes participants, so this is a real chance for you to shine and set up a successful career in law. It is also worth noting that our training contracts are only available to internal employees and, after 6 months with us, you will be eligible to apply with no external competition.   

We currently have a couple of remaining places on our Summer Scheme and Applications are now being accepted and will close on the Friday 1st June 2018. The dates of our vacation scheme are as follows:

Summer: Monday 25th June – Friday 6th July 2018.

The outcome of your application will be communicated to you by the 13th June 2018. Should you be shortlisted at this stage you will be invited to attend an interview to take place the week commencing the 11th June 2018. If successful at the interviews stage you will be offered a place on the scheme. 

Who should apply?

  • Up for a challenge

  • A (2018 or earlier) 3rd year Law Graduate and/or LPC/ BPTC/ GDL Graduate.
